I was spending my lunch time browsing one of art-craft shops nearby the office where I work just to get an idea of how I can make my new deck look a little more cozy and warmer. I recently realized that the idea of upgrading my grill to something bigger or more advanced apparently was not very good due to fact that real charcoal grills are not permitted in our community on decks and without a real char coal you cannot really do a really tasty barbecue.
You can go ahead and try to challenge me on that and you might be right somewhere. But I just find the idea of throwing a few hundred bucks into new gas-lit grill kind of ridiculous. The grill will cost you money, will be big, will take space, will be the main thing that attracts attention and all you will think of is to not to let anybody get too close to it so they won't scratch or otherwise damage your precious investment. Obviously using the grill will become a secondary point for you. The whole point of deck is to serve as point of relaxation, feeling yourself be at home...
So I was absolutely clueless about what to do to create that sense of home personality to my deck for past week or so. Chairs, tables – I was pretty happy with those, they match my deck pretty well. Suddenly I came across a couple of things that really made me stop. These we small lanterns and it is really funny that I missed those for three or four rounds of walking by that shelf. No wonder, they were small and subconsciously I was looking for something big. Unfortunately those looked pretty ugly and designed by the person far from art. My time was nearly up and I became really upset for a moment that I had no lunch second day in a row and that sacrifice brought me almost no results at all. Later on I had a chance to get angry at myself again for calling it quits and not considering an internet as a research instrument. Ha-ha, how could I forget google almighty?
As I mentioned before I work in the office and later during the day I found a time to google up different kinds of lanterns. I came across this product - http://www.allcraftsonline.com/amberteardroplantern-p-863.html
I found it so attractive that I ended up buying 12 of them the same evening. They are exactly what they look on the picture and fitted perfectly to my deck interior doing what they supposed to be doing – creating an atmosphere of peace and coziness. This was a reward for taking time to find what I needed instead of throwing money into first generic idea. At night time they make so much difference to how you feel. I can't wait till I have a little Friday afternoon party with those lanterns on. At first I was planning to get more of them but then I changed my mind. Your deck or partio may be a lot bigger, so choose for yourself how many you want to buy. It seems those guys offer some volume discounts on all items they are selling. Most important thing for me was that their products do not look generic unlike what you can come across in big network art-craft stores.
It is probably worth to mention that that store has a lot of other stuff that you find interesting, I was going after lanterns that time, so I wanted to bring up also this one - http://www.allcraftsonline.com/cottagecandlelantern-p-1139.html which I might get a little later towards Christmas as more appropriate to the season.
I really hope my experience will give someone an extra idea to consider or maybe even help to make a final decision in decorating your house.
