When you are planning a dining area, think about how you want to use it. Should it be used for more formal occasions, or should it be an area for regular family meals? Will you eat there during the daytime or after dark?
You should also make sure there is an easy and safe access to the kitchen. Whether you have the luxury of a separate, self-contained dining room, or have to use an area of a living room or kitchen, the dining room accessories should warm and welcoming. A nice well-built table and some comfy chairs are important, there should be a sufficient amount of light without it being too harsh and glaring; a table lamp or candles will help create a pleasant and beautiful atmosphere at night...
Most of the retail furniture places these days offer good deals for purchasing furniture sets bundled with decorative accessories. Although the money-wise, this seems like a good deal, however these sets are designed to look great in the store' showroom, not in your home. I feel that such home decor accessories should never be chosen by someone that never saw my house style and does not know my personality. In my opinion, the accessories should be selected based on how they match a room and to reflect the experiences, likes, and dislikes of the home’s occupant.
